Crossroads Gospel Mission.
“ We have 21 different churches that support us on a monthly basis. It’ s phenomenal. I don’ t know if there’ s another organization in town that would have that many different churches supporting a ministry like that,” Benner also said.
He said he couldn’ t speak enough about the churches that have just grabbed onto the vision, understand it and are willing to support it. He said they would be willing to go out and speak to any church that wants to learn more about Crossroads Gospel Mission.
“ We just we feel like we just have been blessed in so many different ways. United Way is a big supporter. They’ ve been a promoter. So we’ ve been proud to be an affiliate of United Way,” Benner said.
He said, this year, they were chosen as United Way of Colquitt County’ s Non-Profit of the Year.
Caroline Horne, executive director of United Way of Colquitt County, stated in a letter that,“ In the heart of Colquitt County, where compassion and community run deep, the partnership between United Way of Colquitt County and Crossroads Mission stands as a testament to the power of collaboration.”
She went on to state,“ At the center of this impactful work is Randy Benner, president of Crossroads Mission, whose vision and leadership have been instrumental in growing the organization and expanding its reach.”
Horne stated that under Benner’ s guidance the organization had evolved into more than a place of refuge but had become a place of transformation. She also said that he had cultivated strong leaders to carry forward the work of the mission for years to come.
“ Two key figures in this effort are Jamie Lowery, executive director, and Mark Harrell, Peer Support director. Jamie brings operational expertise and a heart for service, overseeing the day-to-day work of Crossroads with care and integrity. Mark, drawing from personal experience, provides peer support and mentorship to those walking the path to recovery— offering hope through shared experience,” she said.
“ And so I kind of redefined the vision of Crossroads to how I felt like God was leading me, in what I thought would work. And to change it from basically a homeless shelter, which is what it was, into more of a recovery center. And that’ s what we’ ve done.”

Benner said that for whatever reason, Crossroads had gotten bogged down in the past and people had abandoned ship. However, today, they had taken it to a ministry that people could be proud of.
“ I think they can see God at work. It’ s not just me or Jamie, but they can just see God at work in the men at Crossroads and in the ministry itself. And It was always there,” he said.
“ To this day, I carry his words spoken to me while sitting with him on the swing... Let God love you, let me love you. God and Mr. Randy have stood on that statement and shown me what true love looks like. Thank you, Mr. Randy,” said Lowery.
