Facing the first day of kindergarten

Looking down at her younger sister and seeing tears forming in her eyes , Lynn slid an arm around her tiny , shaking shoulders and wrapped her in a cocoon of warmth and love . Lynn affectionately combed her sister ’ s ringlet hair with her fingers , occasionally finding an aloof tangle who had avoided that morning ’ s brushing . She didn ’ t have to ask to know why her sister was so upset , so she stayed quiet and simply shielded her younger sibling , giving her a brief reprieve .

Her sister had been a nervous wreck last night , but she understood why . She remembered what it was like – the first day of school as a kindergartener . It had been five school years since it was her riding on the bus for
