Government Mike Campbell, a former city councilman, was reelected mayor in 2020 and serves a four-year term.
Councilmen, elected at-large, are: Chad Kimbrell, Judy Coleman, Mike Blair( mayor pro tem), Willie D. Slaughter and Jeffery Campbell.
Public meetings are held the first and last Monday of every month at 6 p. m. in the City Council Chambers next door to city hall.

Services
The City of Doerun provides police protection and utilities, which include electric, gas, water, sewer and garbage pickup. Cable is provided by CNS of Moultrie.

• Fire protection is provided by the Doerun Volunteer Fire Department, where the chief is Tyler Maples.
Highway 133 runs through downtown Doerun, right past City Hall, the Doerun YMCA and several local businesses.
A mural by artist Lee Mobley of Douglas is part of a beautification effort in downtown Doerun.
