Southern Regional Technical College , formed by the merger of Moultrie Technical College and Southwest Georgia Technical College in July 2015 , now offers more than 150 degree , diploma , and certificate programs that are designed to get students quickly into their desired careers , and 28 general education courses that transfer to the University System of Georgia institutions and 19 private colleges and universities in Georgia .
SRTC has instructional sites located in Colquitt , Decatur , Early , Grady , Miller , Mitchell , Seminole , Thomas , Tift , Turner , and Worth counties for the convenience of its students .
The college is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges . Smith graduated from SRTC in 2017 and is now director of solid waste and landfill operations with the City of Thomasville . Spencer , graduated in 1990 from Southwest Georgia Technical College , one of the two colleges that merged to form SRTC . A resident of Thomasville , she serves as chair of the radiologic technology program at SRTC ’ s Moultrie campus . Mock graduated from SRTC in 2019 and now serves as deputy marshal for the Bainbridge-Decatur Marshal ’ s Office .

Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine ( PCOM ) extended its commitment to the Southeast by establishing PCOM South Georgia , an additional teaching location in Moultrie , Georgia . PCOM South Georgia offers both a full , four-year medical program leading to the Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine ( DO ) degree and a Master of Science in Biomedical Sciences degree . PCOM is a private , not-for-profit institution that trains professionals in the health and behavioral sciences fields . Joining PCOM Georgia in Suwanee in helping to meet the healthcare needs of the state , PCOM South Georgia focuses on educating physicians for the South Georgia region . The medical campus , which welcomed its inaugural class of medical students in August 2019 , has received accreditation from the American Osteopathic Association ’ s Commission on Osteopathic College Accreditation .
