Lawrence Bransby is a retired teacher and author whose first long overland motorcycle trip was travelling
trans-Africa when emigrating from South Africa to the UK in 1997. He and his 17-year-old son, Gareth, did
the trip on two old XT500s which, although tired, stood up to the trip well. The record of this trip is
