This was a popular statistic for a brand of cat food once and sadly it’s also the number of publications that go out of business in their first year. I’ve no idea why this, could be down to the market they are in, it could be lack of content or it could a poor marketing strategy. Well, this issue makes the 6 issue or it will be 1 year that Motorcycle Explorer has been running on your screen. So it’s a rather proud issue that we put out this time with a heartfelt thanks to you the reader! Learning curves? Well let’s be honest here, there have been more than a few and we look at issue 1 (I’ve not changed it) you can see where we have come from (it’s ok to laugh, we laughed too when we looked back at it!). How come MEM now has tongues wagging all over the world? Well again this is because of you. We listen to you and we adapt to what you’re telling us. Some comments in the early part where ... shall we just say ‘robust’? My favourite is still ‘The only thing worse than the cover is the layouts, fucking aweful and an affront to the eyes’ oh and one person with ‘hanging like a parasitic fish’ (off another magazine). Yeah, you need to have a thick skin in this game boys and girls. The ADV forum has been a godsend for advice as our ever growing facebook page. What you have wanted and how we could make that happen was the ‘business’ plan. Working out how to do all this for free was a serious undertaking but we have managed to do it! So this is a thank you to you all, for the all the wonderful feedback that let us know that we’re getting it right and yes even the ‘robust’ feedback at the start. But we will not be sitting still, as I’ve looked around it has become obvious for many reasons – where MEM leads, others now follow. It’s not over, not by a long shot and there is still so much we are going to be putting into development for your entertainment and inspiration needs. Please keep the feedback coming in and spread the good words. MEM is free and it’s HERE TO STAY!
