As a cover The Bikekini comes folded and then zipped on 3 sides, so to use it as a cover you have to undo the zip to get the cover over. This is not a full cover and is made to cover the seat, the dash and part of the engine. I’ve no issue with that against a full cover, reason being is that I would tend to use this bit of kit at weekend rallies or when off exploring. A full cover just isn’t needed and to be fair, at a rally it makes you look a bit of pussy! I don’t use full covers due to most of the rally events that I go to are in an open field and that means you can get some nasty gusts of wind (not just from your neighbours tent!) and a full cover acts like a damn parachute if your bike is side on to the wind. Rallies being rallies I’m used to waking up to find someone pissed on my tent (it happens, get over it) but to find my pride and joy on her side like a dead sheep is not going to see me in the best of moods. Plus there is always some git with a camera ready to snap your struggle to get the bike up with a full cover on (yes, I know those who know me know that it I would normally be that git with the camera). So a full cover one use for me is best kept in the garage when not in long term use. The key things I find on a rally, depending on the time of year and what time some son of a bitch decides they want to have a ride out (normally starting with 0 hundred hours) means that the seat is either wet from the rain, morning dew or frosted. None of these make for a welcome connection with your backside, no matter how much you paid for your pants super insulation. One quick tug of the Bikekini cover and it’s stuffed in the bum bag in a matter of seconds leaves you with a wet and frost free bike seat. The cover also has a silver thermal reflector for any heat issues that may damage the seat or engine and I’m told works great in desert temperatures – I’d have to ask Chris Scott about that as Lancashire seldom gets that kind of UV attention. So as a cover the Bikekini is spot on so far!
