Now while price is not a factor in the test you’d be an idiot if you did not think it’s something people are going to look at and with a tag of £175 they aren’t cheap! But let’s have a look at the tech sheet. Held Winter gloves with the 2-in-1 twin chamber System: Outer shell: goatskin palm, DuPont CORDURA (100% polyamide), leather detailed back Lining: Warm compartment with Pique-Push-Pull lining and Primaloft insulation Perfect grip compartment with Pique-Push-Pull lining and the benefits of Primaloft back of hand wind-chill protection Membrane: GORE-TEX membrane (100% polyester with 100% polyurethane coating): waterproof, windproof & breathable Fit/features: Velcro adjustment at wrists & cuffs visor wiper Stretch fabric panels (100% polyamide) on back GORE-TEX 2in1 technology Extra ribbed grip on two finger tips for lever action. Protection: Double leather at palm SUPERFABRIC reinforcement on edge of hand 3M SCOTCHLITE reflective piping Foam protection on side of hand I’ve been riding around in these during a very cold Feb with often sleet on my visor and they are a quality bit of kit! The 2 in 1 system is a flap that you move up or down to add or remove a layer from your upper hand. You do feel the difference when the tag is moved. I found that the glove was secured well with the Velcro wrist band and the Velcro gauntlet cuff but still very moveable, the ribbing at the finger joints made it easy to flex at the brake and clutch. There is also quite a layer of padding on the palm that is a real help when it comes to shielding from vibration. The lining is very plush and almost fur like when you first get your hand in there making a great shield for the winter wind but I was still able to feel my controls to good effect. Protection wise there is abrasion padding on the inner palm, off side to your thumb where the meaty part of your hand would make contact. Armour over the knuckles is provided by hardened plastic with a padded underlay giving a solid and secure feel to the glove ... very Batman feel to them with the added plastic protection studs running down three of the fingers on both gloves. On the waterproofing, I think we all know the Gore-Tex brand and I did ride in the rain and even got caught in the Lancashire sleet but my hands remained not just dry but warm and dry. There was a bit of cold nipping at the fingertips but I had been out for about an hour before I noticed this. But I’m picking here because I’m struggling to find any fault or something to improve with the gloves! Make them cheaper was all I could come up with but then the old saying ‘you get what you pay for’ for this pair at least, rings very true. Quality throughout with a luxurious feel to the inner glove 9/10
