I t is though, a fact that this thing that we do has exploded, and the ‘adventure bike’ market is massive. Having spent 9 days at Motorcycle Live last November I couldn’t walk past a manufactures stand without seeing a model exuding adventure and some of the bikes alluded that too. The word is written on helmets, clothing, accessories and I think there may even be a publication or two that incorporate ‘Adventure’ in their title. T he word has become a marketing slogan, implying security and sanitizing what is, by definition an activity of risk and uncertainty. With adventure lights and panniers, bikes are accessorized to be all terrain, all weather, all seeing, all over the world vehicles. Blinged up to be stolen the first time they’re left unattended whilst the owner goes to the ATM. There is nothing wrong with a bike like that, they actually look quite attractive, that's the problem, attractive means other people covet it.
