On the way I passed the Tropic of Capricorn. I had passed it on
the way south the previous year and a few years before that also,
while traveling in Australia. It felt a bit strange to be crossing it in
such a northerly region of Argentina, if that makes any sense.
When I think of Australia, in my minds eye its further south than
South America. The reality however is that South America
extends to 56 degrees south in Latitude, whereas Australia stops
before 44 degrees. All told, South America extends an extra 700
miles more Southerly.
The road continued on through the dusty countryside and I was
always on the lookout hoping that someone would come along to
