been used in several movies to depict Mars and other non Earth
locations. The sky is almost always cloudless which makes it a
favorite haunt of star gazers and given the near zero population,
there is never any light pollution. Every day starts and ends the
same as the one before, the sun is always shining, the sky is
always blue and the nights are cold with a sky full of stars. I was
lucky enough to see the night sky in the desert while I was broken
down in the Northern Atacama Desert. The darkness above was
painted with millions of shiny points of light. I felt frozen to the
spot as I looked up trying to take it all in.
