'After all the help we received from the Colombian customs staff we lost six hours on the Venezuelan side but finally cruised into Caracas at around 3pm and high-fived each other' says Holmes who had mixed feelings about reaching the end. 'It was quite an emotional day's ride. I was sad that the journey had come to an end but joyous that I would be soon home with my wife and family. The defining moment of the trip for me was seeing how very little has changed in these countries since Alberto and Che made their trip, but despite being impoverished the people still manage to keep smiling.'
