Feature: craig whitney - taffy dakar Over the first bank holiday weekend in May, the Western Brecon Beacons and the Black Mountain echoed to the sound of Adventure bikes…trail bikes and a couple of hardy c90’s…as the second annual Taffy Dakar Motorcycle Orienteering Challenge swung into action… Born out of an idea copied (with their full support) from the Irish who previously held the Paddy Dakar, a now regular fixture on the calendar. The first event passed with little remark and few entrants, apart from the aforementioned Celtic contingent, who came in some numbers and enjoyed hugely. Based on what was learned, a second year was immediately agreed upon and events set in motion, much well deserved publicity followed and entrant numbers went up some 500%! A relaxed and fun affair for all to enjoy!
