One thing you learn from spending a short amount of time in Pedro Acosta ’ s company is that he is happier racing than when he isn ’ t . The young Spaniard , who was the sensation of the 2024 MotoGP™ World Championship , has a big year ahead , as he leads KTM ’ s charge from a spot in their factory garage .
And unsurprisingly the 20-year old is excited to get stuck in . “ Pumped ! Pumped to start the season ,” he said . “ I enjoyed a lot the winter and I enjoyed a lot ( riding ) the bike . Super-happy to be back racing and to see the paddock with a lot of people and colours around .”
While many in the MotoGP™ world used the winter to relax and recharge , Acosta was grafting over the offseason . As well as riding and training most days , the former Moto2™ and Moto3™ World Champion spent a substantial amount of time analysing his weaknesses from 2024 , a year when he finished sixth overall , and scored five podium finishes in feature races .
From that analysis , Acosta understood the need to be calm and collect points when wins aren ’ t possible . “( I need to be ) Much more calm ,” he said of his aim for this year . “ Maybe many things did not change this winter but I was working a lot on my head to calm the devils inside !
“ In the end we saw it with ( Jorge ) Martin ( last year ), he did not win many races but he won the championship . Don ’ t get me
