Circuit Of The Americas
The question is one we ’ ve come to know well over the last decade of MotoGP : can anyone stop Marc Marquez ? His reputation precedes him in Austin , with a stunning record of speed and wins – seven of them in fact since he first races here in 2013 . He came so close to winning Stateside in 2024 : can he get the job done in Ducati Lenovo Team red ?
Last year ’ s Grand Prix of the Americas was the most exciting we ’ ve ever had on this track . Marquez memorably sparred with Maverick Viñales ( Red Bull KTM Tech3 ), Pedro Acosta ( Red Bull KTM Factory Racing ) and Jorge Martin ( Aprilia Racing ) in a fantastic early duel before Viñales took his sole victory for Aprilia . Could he and Acosta repeat their feats this year and take the challenge to Marquez ?
Martin is still very much a question mark due to a training injury suffered days before the season curtain raiser in Thailand . But Aprilia have reason to be optimistic thanks to the performances of
Marco Bezzecchi ( Aprilia Racing ) in Thailand , as well as new rookie superstar Ai Ogura ( Trackhouse MotoGP Team ). The Japanese rider ’ s maturity in the two Thai duels was reminiscent of a seasoned campaigner – can he continue that here ?
The rest of the Ducati armada – including twotime MotoGP Champion Francesco Bagnaia ( Ducati Lenovo Team ) – will look to make Marquez work a little harder than in Thailand . The same can be said of Alex Marquez ( BK8 Gresini Racing MotoGP ), whose preseason form and double runner up haul in Thailand , suggests he ’ s in the best shape in his MotoGP™ career .
Honda will be looking to maintain its early season momentum , with Johann Zarco ( CASTROL Honda LCR ) scoring his best result for HRC in Thailand . And with Fabio Quartararo ( Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP ) certainly impressing in testing in Sepang , Yamaha appears to have made a step forward this term as well . Could the Frenchman repeat his podiums in 2021 and 2023 at this track ?
