Phanom Rung Mountain Climbing Tradition
The Phanom Rung Mountain Climbing Tradition, first held in 1898, is organized annually on the 15th day of the 5th lunar month. The event honors both the site ' s historical and spiritual significance. Activities include the Shiva worship ceremony, processions, traditional dance performances, and music shows. A highlight is the spectacular sunrise through 15 doorways of the temple, which attracts numerous visitors.

Sunrise-Sunset Phenomenon at Phanom Rung
A unique natural phenomenon occurs at Phanom Rung, where the sun aligns perfectly with 15 doorways of the temple. This occurs only four times a year: 1. Sunset: March 5-7, around 6:15 PM 2. Sunrise: April 3-5, around 6:03 AM 3. Sunrise: September 8-10, around 5:57 AM 4. Sunset: October 5-7, around 5:55 PM
