On behalf of the Sports Authority of Thailand ( SAT ), it is with great pleasure that we announce Thailand ' s selection as the host of the MotoGP for the sixth time and for the first time in history , Thailand has been chosen to open the season , marking another historic milestone as the first nation to host the Season Premier event . This prestigious occasion will feature the unveiling of the 2025 season ' s race bikes and teams , a testament to Thailand ' s growing prominence in the world of motorsports . This achievement reflects the trust placed in us to pioneer such an event and serves as a proud moment in Thailand ' s motorsport history . All of this has been made possible through the unwavering cooperation of government sectors , private organizations , and the Thai people . I would like to take this opportunity to extend my heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has contributed to the success of past ThaiGP events . This momentous achievement would not have been possible without the steadfast collaboration of all stakeholders .
This year , we continue to strive for excellence , aiming once again to establish our event as one of the best Grand Prix experiences globally . Our goal is not only to showcase the capability of the Thai people to the world but also to offer an exceptional experience to our fans , who will be the first in the world to enjoy these exclusive events .
As the government sector directly responsible for this endeavor , the Sports Authority of Thailand is committed to two principal missions . The first is leveraging this world-class sporting event to drive Thailand ' s economy through the " Sport Tourism " policy . Last year , ThaiGP generated over 4.759 billion baht in revenue for the nation , an increase of 266 million baht from the previous year , underscoring its economic impact . This serves as a clear example of how Sport Tourism can be effectively implemented to benefit the country and provide a model for other provinces in Thailand to adapt and maximize their own potential .
The second mission is to elevate and nurture Thai athletes to compete on an international level and bring pride to the nation . This year , we celebrate the historic achievement of " Kong " Somkiat Chantra , a rider for LCR Honda , who became the first Thai rider in the premier class . His success has brought great recognition to Thailand and serves as an inspiration for the younger generation .
In closing , I wish to extend my deepest gratitude to both Thai and international fans who have been instrumental in forging historic moments and extraordinary events that have earned Thailand a distinguished place on the global MotoGP calendar .
