Welcome
On behalf of the Ministry of Tourism and Sports and the people of Thailand , it is my pleasure to officially welcome you all to the MotoGP “ OR Thailand Grand Prix 2022 ”. This year will be the third time Thailand plays host to the event after a short pause caused by the COVID-19 crisis . We are certain that we will be able to provide all the motorsports fans from across the world with warm hospitality as usual . We have learned a lot from the past years and we promise to maintain our good standards and improve every aspect to make the event absolutely perfect .
Ministry of Tourism and Sports have a policy to drive sports as follows 1 . Promoting tourism and sports . 2 . Promoting international sports cooperation . 3 . Promoting world-class sporting event in Thailand . 4 . Promoting Thai Athletes to the world class . Thailand have many beautiful tourist attractions which make foreigners fascinated by sports tourism . It brings some significant benefits by paying for access to the sporting facilities available at the destination . Economic boosts a positive impact on tourism development in the area around . The upcoming MotoGP ( OR Thailand Grandprix 2022 ) will be in response to the government ' s sport driven policy . It is not only able to attract tourists increasing but also generate revenue for the country which drive the sports industry and creating economic value for the country . Sporting events might attract a local market , regional market , international market , or a combination of these thoroughly athletes , spectator and involved people . Revenue is also earned as the tourists make use of facilities such as restaurants and hotels in the location of the sporting venue .
We are trying to augment the event organizing standards to be sustainable according to international benchmarks and to make Thailand to become one of the world ’ s sports tourism destinations . Being one of the circuits for the MotoGP events , the premier class of motorcycle road racing , for at least 5 consecutive years from now will be the key to drive the national tourism economy which is in line with the sports tourism policy .
For the 2022 event , on behalf of the Ministry of Tourism and Sports , I wish to express my profound thanks and appreciation to all sponsors from both public and private sectors for coming together to make the ThaiGP possible . I would also like to thank the residents of Buriram for making all attempts to play perfect hosts to all visitors . What ’ s more , I stand ready to support all parties getting involved in the hosting of the MotoGP “ OR Thailand Grand Prix 2022 ”. Let us unite to make another history in Thailand by staging this world event to promote a positive image of the country to the world . We are pleased to showcase our potential , preparedness and solidarity in every aspect to make the Thailand MotoGP a model for other big events . Once again , let us join hands and hearts in making the MotoGP “ OR Thailand Grand Prix 2022 ” the world ’ s happiest Thai-style MotoGP race as intended .
