On behalf of the Royal Thai Government , I would like to welcome all the riders , support teams and motorsports fans from all over the world to Thailand again to witness the world ’ s greatest motorcycle road race , the MotoGP “ OR Thailand Grand Prix 2022 ” to be held in Buriram .
This is the third year of the MotoGP series in Thailand after a two-year pause due to the COVID-19 pandemic . It can be said that throughout the first two years of races in Thailand , it has been considered an enormous success of our country in showcasing Thainess to the world through every single activity featured in the event , whether it be a Thai-style welcome , the introduction of “ Shuttle Tan ”, an impressively unique shuttle service for all participants , or “ Muaythai Expo ” showing Thai and foreign spectatorsc a magnificently beautiful strong Thai traditional martial art as a cultural heritage . The charming identity of Thai culture brought great admiration from all motorsports fans to the country . The inaugural Thailand Grand Prix was voted “ The Best Grand Prix of the Year ”. The staging of a world-class event like the MotoGP is the successful implementation of policy according to the national sports development framework . This helps to promote a positive image of Thailand to the world as a country with immense potential to host prestigious world events and generate an economic value of billions of Baht per year .
As the host country , I wish the event continued success and for all the riders a safe �and prosperous race . The Royal Thai Government hopes that the MotoGP “ OR Thailand Grand Prix 2022 ”, the 2nd race , will serve as a significant platform to promote Thailand ’ s sports tourism and augment Thailand ’ s sports and automotive industry .
