“[ Ducati’ s GP25 ] is something that gives me very good feedback. I knew there was a good chance to fight for victory in the early races because in Malaysia I felt good and was very close to the level of Álex and Pecco Bagnaia. If I feel good there, it means I’ m in good shape. From the beginning of testing I felt super good. So, I need to keep going and keep pushing. I’ m enjoying it, and I will try to enjoy it all season.”
Still, it hasn’ t been completely perfect. Márquez was on course to triumph in Austin before a mistake led to him crashing out of the lead. Bagnaia’ s victory there was a reminder that this challenge from across the garage is never far away.
“ Racing is like this, and I keep saying‘ the championship can change in one millisecond’,” he commented in Austin.“ The positive thing is that even after making that big mistake, we are still there in the championship.”
