Anticipation couldn’ t be higher for MotoGP™ in 2026 as an intriguing title fight lights up the final year of the 1000cc bikes before a switch to 850cc machinery in 2027.
Reigning World Champion Marc Marquez( Ducati Lenovo Team) started the year as favourite despite recently returning from yet another serious shoulder injury. The early rounds told the seven-time MotoGP™ champ something wasn’ t quite right. Having come back from further surgery to alleviate nerve issues, he is on the comeback trail. Wins at Balaton Park, Brno and the Sachsenring have put last year’ s double victor firmly back in the title picture.
The year’ s biggest story to date has been the utter brilliance of Aprilia. Jorge Martin( Aprilia Racing) has been back to his best despite a troubled pre-season. Even though he missed the Sepang test through injury, the number 89 scored a brilliant victory in France, as well as MotoGP™ Sprint successes in Austin, France and Silverstone, to control proceedings.
Team-mate Marco Bezzecchi( Aprilia Racing) was the early benchmark, winning the first three MotoGP™ races and leading every lap in the process. But a horrible run of races from Hungary to Germany saw him lose vital ground. A podium at Silverstone was vital to his chances.

Il campione del mondo in carica, Marc Marquez( Ducati Lenovo Team), ha iniziato l’ anno con qualche incertezza a causa di un infortunio a una spalla rimediato lo scorso anno. Le prime gare hanno confermato al sette volte campione del mondo della MotoGP™ che qualcosa non andava. Così si è sottoposto a un intervento chirurgico, dal quale è riemerso con grinta. Ha infatti vinto a Balaton Park, a Brno e al Sachsenring, riportandosi di prepotenza nella corsa al titolo.
Lo spagnolo si è così confermato tra i protagonisti, mentre la vera sorpresa è rappresentata dai piloti Aprilia. Jorge Martin( Aprilia Racing), tornato in forma nonostante una fase pre campionato travagliata che l’ ha visto fuori dai test di Sepang per un infortunio, ha vinto in Francia e nelle Sprint di Austin, Le Mans e Silverstone. Il suo compagno di squadra, Marco Bezzecchi( Aprilia Racing), era stato il mattatore di inizio stagione, con tre vittorie consecutive ottenute al termine di gare corse tutte in testa. L’ italiano ha però poi affrontato una serie negativa che gli ha fatti perdere terreno in campionato: in difficoltà dall ' Ungheria alla Germania, ha rialzato la testa a Silverstone tornando sul podio.
