Era chiaro dalle sue prime apparizioni sulla scena internazionale : Mir era destinato a grandi cose . Nessuno nell ’ era moderna ha dominato la entry class dei GP come ha fatto lui nel 2017 , alla sua seconda stagione in Moto3™ . Dieci vittorie in gara e il titolo erano solo l ’ antipasto . Le sue prime gare in Moto2™ insieme al team Marc VDS , con podi a Le Mans e al Mugello , hanno convinto la Suzuki a ingaggiarlo in MotoGP™ per il 2019 . Lo spagnolo ha ripagato la fiducia e nel 2020 ha inaspettatamente vinto il titolo nella classe regina . L ’ anno dopo , complice il mancato sviluppo della sua moto e la velocità degli avversari , non è riuscito a ripetersi . Grazie alla sua costanza ha comunque finito al terzo posto finale . Il 2022 rappresenta la sua ultima stagione con Suzuki dal momento che la Casa di Hamamatsu ha annunciato che a fine anno lascerà la MotoGP™ .

From his early forays on the world stage , it was clear Mir was destined for the top . No one in the modern era has dominated grand prix racing ’ s junior category like the Mir did in 2017 , only his second season in the class . Ten race wins and a Moto3™ championship victory was just the start . His early showings in Marc VDS ’ Moto2™ team - podiums at Le Mans and Mugello – convinced Suzuki to add him to its MotoGP™ ranks in 2019 . Mir returned as a near complete performer in 2020 to win one of the most unlikely championship triumphs in premier class history . His title defence was more difficult , as Suzuki stood still with bike development and his rivals raced clear . That reliable consistency meant Mir still finished third overall . But his 2022 challenge came apart when Suzuki announced plans to withdraw from MotoGP™ at the end of this year .
