Espargaro wechselte von 2005 zur Saisonhälfte 2006 ziemlich schnell aus der Klasse bis 125ccm in die mit 250ccm . Drei Jahre später bekam er keinen Platz mehr . 2009 sprang er als Ersatzfahrer bei Pramac Ducati in der MotoGP™ Klasse ein und empfahl sich damit für höhere Aufgaben : Ein Jahr später wurde er Stammfahrer in der Königsklasse . 2012 und 2013 gewann Espargaro die CRT-WM-Titel . Als 2015 Suzuki nach drei Jahren Pause wieder in die MotoGP™ einstieg , brachte er den japanischen Hersteller auf den Erfolgsweg und entwickelte das Motorrad . Seit 2017 tut er das Gleiche für Aprilia . In seinem ersten Jahr fuhr er bereits zwei Mal in die Top-Sechs . 2021 holte er für Aprilia dann das erste MotoGP™-Podest seit 2000 . In 8 von 18 Rennen blieb er in unter zehn Sekunden Rückstand auf den Sieger . 2022 ist er nach Siegen und Podesten in Serie ein Titelanwärter .

Espargaro skipped quickly from 125cc in 2005 to the 250cc class midway through 2006 until he found himself without a ride three years later . But a substitute ride in 2009 for Pramac Ducati in the MotoGP™ class put this Catalan on the map . His four showings earned him a full-time call up for a full MotoGP™ campaign the following year . From there Espargaro won two CRT class titles in 2012 and 2013 . He brought Suzuki – returning to the class after a three-year absence – up to speed in 2015 and did the same for Aprilia in 2017 , when he scored two brilliant top six finishes . He led Aprilia ’ s resurgence in the class in 2021 , scoring the factory ’ s first MotoGP™ podium since 2000 . Furthermore , he finished less than 10s off the race winner in 8 of 18 contests . After further bike improvements , can he now kick on and fight for race wins in 2022 ?
