Mesmo depois de Alex ter conquistado brilhantemente o título de Moto3™ , em 2014 , graças a três vitórias e mais sete pódios , ele permaneceu na sombra do seu irmão mais velho , Marc . O espanhol enfrentou um início difícil na Moto2™ , em 2015 e 2016 , mas conquistou três vitórias em 2017 . Em 2019 , foi o ano em que Alex realmente se revelou ao se tornar o primeiro piloto na história a ganhar títulos na Moto2™ e na Moto3™ . A saída de Jorge Lorenzo abriu-lhe as portas de forma surpreendente no MotoGP™ com a Repsol Honda , em 2020 e , apesar das dificuldades com a sua moto , Alex conquistou dois pódios impressionantes em França e em Aragão . Ele mudou para a LCR Honda , em 2021 , mas além de um bom quarto lugar no GP do Algarve , foi um ano difícil . Com uma Honda totalmente nova , ele deve lutar por pódios novamente em 2022 .

Even after Alex had won the 2014 Moto3™ title brilliantly , courtesy of three wins and seven further podiums , he still lingered in the shadow of older brother Marc . The Spaniard faced a tough start to life in Moto2™ in 2015 and 2016 . But he scored three wins in 2017 . In 2019 was a year when Alex really came into his own when he became the first rider in history to win titles in Moto2™ and Moto3™ . Jorge Lorenzo ’ s retirement opened the door to a surprise MotoGP™ seat in Repsol Honda for 2020 and , despite difficulties with his bike , Alex scored two impressive podiums in France and Aragon . He switched to LCR Honda colours for 2021 but aside from a fine fourth at the Algarve GP , it was a tough year . An all-new Honda should see him fighting for podiums again in 2022 .
