Some big question marks hang over Moto3™ in 2026. A class that often provides the tightest racing of the weekend, there will likely to be little to choose between the leading names.
Those tipped for glory in 2026 already showed great promise in 2025. With last year’ s champion Jose Antonio Rueda and runner up Angel Piqueras moving up to Moto2™, a host of names will be vying for supremacy this year.
Last year’ s stand out rookie Maximo Quiles( CFMoto Aspar Team) entered the year as the preseason favourite and classy wins in Brazil, Spain, France and Barcelona did little to take away from that thought. On the evidence so far, Marc Marquez’ s protegee will be hard to beat.
Alvaro Carpe( Red Bull KTM Ajo) will also be a major player in his second season in the class. As will Valentin Perrone( Red Bull KTM Tech3), who scored two podiums from the opening three rounds.
Challenges are also likely to come from Liqui Moly Dynavolt Intact GP runners David Almansa and David Muñoz after recovering from injury issues. All eyes are on Joel Kelso( Gryd – Mlav Racing) as he switches from KTM machinery to Honda. And watch out for Brian Uriarte( Red Bull KTM Ajo), another rapid Spaniard destined for the top.
Er zijn in 2026 nog veel vraagtekens wat betreft de Moto3™. Een klasse die vaak de spannendste races van het weekend oplevert, waarin de verschillen tussen de toppers waarschijnlijk minimaal zullen zijn.
De coureurs die voor 2026 als favorieten worden gezien, lieten in 2025 al veel potentie zien. Met kampioen Jose Antonio Rueda en vicekampioen Angel Piqueras die zijn doorgestroomd naar Moto2™, zullen tal van namen dit jaar strijden om de suprematie.
De opvallendste rookie van vorig jaar, Maximo Quiles( CFMoto Aspar Team), begon het seizoen als favoriet. Zijn overtuigende overwinningen in Brazilië, Spanje, Frankrijk en Barcelona deden niets af aan die status. Op basis van wat we tot nu toe hebben gezien, zal de protegé van Marc Márquez moeilijk te verslaan zijn.
Ook Alvaro Carpe( Red Bull KTM Ajo) zal in zijn tweede seizoen in de klasse een belangrijke rol spelen. Hetzelfde geldt voor Valentin Perrone( Red Bull KTM Tech3), die in de eerste drie races al twee podiumplaatsen behaalde.
Ook de Liqui Moly Dynavolt Intact GP coureurs David Almansa en David Muñoz zullen na hun herstel van blessureleed waarschijnlijk vooraan meestrijden. Alle ogen zijn daarnaast gericht op Joel Kelso( Gryd – Mlav Racing), die overstapte van een KTM-machines naar Honda. En let ook op Brian Uriarte( Red Bull KTM Ajo), opnieuw een snelle Spanjaard die voorbestemd lijkt voor de top.
