Enea Bastianini made his early mark with two wins in the 2013 Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup while gaining experience in domestic Moto3™ competition. A full-time World Championship debut followed in 2014 with Gresini, where regular front running and three podiums confirmed his potential. Title contention arrived in 2015, highlighted by a first Grand Prix victory at Misano and a further five podium finishes. Consistency carried him to second overall in 2016. After a tougher 2017, momentum returned with Leopard Racing and a fourth-place finish in 2018. The breakthrough came in 2020, where relentless top six finishes and key victories delivered the Moto2™ World Championship. A strong MotoGP™ adaptation followed, with standout performances on older machinery in 2021. A switch to Gresini Ducati in 2022 produced four wins and third overall. Injury disrupted factory Ducati seasons, though victory returned in 2023. Now with Red Bull KTM Tech3, Bastianini targets regular podium contention in 2026.

Enea Bastianini beleefde een bewogen periode bij het Ducatifabrieksteam. Een schouderblessure vroeg in 2023 verstoorde zijn seizoen, maar na zijn terugkeer liet‘ The Beast’ regelmatig zien waarom hij tot de snelste coureurs van de grid behoort. Hoewel een serieuze titelstrijd uitbleef, behaalde hij enkele memorabele overwinningen. Op Silverstone was hij onaantastbaar tijdens zijn eerste MotoGP-dubbelslag, terwijl hij in Mugello en Misano rechtstreeks de strijd aanging met Jorge Martin. Vooral zijn overwinning in Misano zorgde voor discussie, maar de stewards lieten het resultaat staan. Sinds 2025 rijdt Bastianini voor Red Bull KTM Tech3, waar hij zich moest aanpassen aan een compleet andere motorfiets en werkomgeving. De Italiaan staat bekend om zijn vermogen om onverwacht toe te slaan wanneer de omstandigheden kloppen. Zijn carrière kent al meerdere indrukwekkende hoogtepunten en zijn palmares bewijst dat hij races kan winnen tegen de sterkste tegenstanders. De vraag is of hij die kwaliteiten ook bij KTM opnieuw volledig weet te benutten.
