JEREZ
The European season is well underway and Fabio Quartararo is already showing signs that he is becoming the rider the watching world thought he could be during an explosive rookie campaign in 2019 . The Frenchman has scored two wins from the first three races and heads the MotoGP™ championship coming to Jerez , the scene of his maiden premier class victory last July .
- THE COMPETITION WILL BE
FEROCIOUS
Having turned 22 on the Tuesday after Portugal , only Marquez ( 19 ), Casey Stoner ( 9 ) and Freddie Spencer ( 8 ) had won more premier class races than Fabio ’ s five by their own 22nd birthdays .
But the competition promises to be ferocious . Francesco Bagnaia has already scored two podiums this year in what has been a highly promising start to life as a factory Ducati rider . The Italian has bittersweet memories of Jerez , too , after retiring from last year ’ s Andalusian Grand Prix with a technical issue when lying second .
Maverick Viñales , winner of the season opening Grand Prix in Qatar , sits third overall , 20 points
