Anticipation couldn’ t be higher for MotoGP™ in 2026 as an intriguing title fight lights up the final year of 1000cc bikes.
Reigning World Champion Marc Marquez( Ducati Lenovo Team) started the year as favourite despite recently returning from yet another a serious shoulder injury. The seven-time MotoGP™ champ gradually built up his strength and endurance during the winter and has shown some serious speed in flashes, which led to victories in the Brazilian and Spanish MotoGP™ Sprint. But a crash at Jerez showed he hasn’ t quite recovered his 2025 level.
The year’ s biggest story to date has been the utter brilliance of Aprilia. Marco Bezzecchi( Aprilia Racing) will be another challenger after his brilliant second half of 2025. The Italian won the first three MotoGP™ races, leading every lap in the process. Only crashes in the Thai, US and Spanish MotoGP™ Sprints have kept the rest in touch.
Surprisingly his biggest competition has come from across the garage. Jorge Martin( Aprilia Racing) has been back to his best despite a troubled preseason. Even though he missed the Sepang test through injury, the number 89 has scored two podiums from four, plus an epic MotoGP™ Sprint win in Austin.
Ducati’ s other names shouldn’ t be discounted. Last year’ s victor Alex Marquez( BK8 Gresini Racing MotoGP)

Il campione del mondo Marc Marquez( Ducati Lenovo Team) ha iniziato la stagione da chiaro favorito, pur se al ritorno da un serio infortunio alla spalla. Il sette volte campione del mondo MotoGP™ ha vinto le Sprint in Brasile e Spagna, anche se una caduta a Jerez ha dimostrato che non ha ancora ritrovato il livello del 2025.
Finora la vera storia della stagione è l’ altissimo livello raggiunto da Aprilia. Marco Bezzecchi( Aprilia Racing) è un altro chiaro contendente al titolo mondiale. Il riminese ha vinto le prime tre gare della stagione, restando sempre al comando. Solo delle cadute nelle Sprint in Thailandia, USA e Spagna lo hanno un po’ limitato.
A sorpresa, il suo maggior rivale sta dall’ altra parte del box: Jorge Martin( Aprilia Racing) è tornato al suo miglior livello nonostante una preseason complicata. Nonostante abbia saltato il test di Sepang per infortunio, il numero 89 ha conquistato due podi in quattro appuntamenti, oltre a un’ epica vittoria nella Sprint di Austin.
