Due anni in 125 nel 2008 e 2009 , poi l ’ affermazione in Moto2™ nel 2013 , quando si è assicurato cinque podi . Passato ai colori Idemitsu Honda Team Asia nel 2014 , Nakagami non ha subito ingranato , ma le vittorie al Dutch TT 2016 e al Gran Premio di Gran Bretagna 2017 hanno convinto l ’ HRC a promuoverlo in MotoGP™ . Nel 2018 sono stati 33 i punti raccolti ; 74 nel 2019 , nonostante le conseguenze di una spalla strapazzata al Dutch TT . Per Nakagami l ’ anno della maturazione è stato il 2020 , con dieci top 10 consecutive in apertura di stagione . Nel 2021 un calo dovuto a ragioni tecniche e un quarto posto come miglior risultato . Nel 2022 ha le carte in regola per fare bene .

Nakagami spent two years in the 125cc category in 2008 and 2009 , but really came into his own in Moto2™ in 2013 , when he secured five podium finishes . A move to the Idemitsu Honda Team Asia squad for 2014 didn ’ t bring instant success . But victories at the 2016 Dutch TT and the 2017 British Grand Prix convinced HRC to promote him to the MotoGP™ class in 2018 . He scored 33 points that year and 74 in 2019 despite carrying a shoulder from the Dutch TT . Nakagami arrived as a MotoGP™ force in 2020 however , scoring top ten finishes in each of the first ten races . He failed to continue that form the following year , as a variety of issues with an uncompetitive machine saw him score a single best result of fourth . He has it all to improve again in 2022 on a new Honda .
