The reigning Champion will race with the # 1 in 2025, and he’ ll do it on a different bike. After duelling Francesco Bagnaia to the end in 2023 and coming up short, Martin won the rematch in 2024 – and that even after he took his future into his own hands and signed with Aprilia. That ended the speculation of Martin or Marc Marquez moving to partner Bagnaia at Ducati, and it sets up a mouth-watering 2025 as the # 1 pits out from the Aprila garage instead. Everything – or nearly everything – that proved a chink in Martin’ s armour since his impressive but then injury-hit MotoGP debut in 2021 seems to have been whittled way, with consistency and a lack of unforced errors playing a large part in how he took his maiden MotoGP crown. Now he’ ll look to keep that going and prove another point in 2025 – that he can do just the same in his new home, Aprilia Racing.
