Continuity is key, and that is something Yamaha have with their line-up for 2025 as both 2021 World Champion Fabio Quartararo and Alex Rins remain with the Iwata manufacturer. Having struggled throughout 2024 without a podium, changes are on the horizon, with a switch from the inline-four engine to a V4 widely anticipated. Although it was debuted in a racing environment ahead of schedule, its performance showed there is still work to be done.
Yamaha’ s history in the sport is a glorious one, with 245 wins and over 500 podium finishes, although their last victory came in Germany three years ago. It is a far cry from the past, and even from 2022, but the Japanese marque continue to face their challenges head on, both on track and behind the scenes. Lin Jarvis has vacated his longtime role and is replaced by Paolo Pavesio.
After two seasons without an independent team, Yamaha expand their presence with Prima Pramac Racing joining the fold in 2025. Jack Miller and Miguel Oliveira, both vastly experienced, lead the team’ s charge. Beyond that, Augusto Fernandez is Yamaha’ s official test rider, underlining that they are working on all fronts to return to the top.
WITH 245 WINS AND OVER 500 PODIUMS, YAMAHA’ S HISTORY IS A GLORIOUS ONE.
