Retaining their manufacturers’ crown and winning 19 of 20 Grands Prix, Ducati remain the brand to beat in the 2025 MotoGP™ title race. However, the Italians lost the # 1 plate as champion Jorge Martin carried it to Aprilia. Even so, Ducati never rest on their laurels, and with a powerhouse line-up of double World Champion Francesco‘ Pecco’ Bagnaia and eight-time champion Marc Marquez, success is once again expected in 2025.
So, what is new for 2025? Beyond the lineup, the Desmosedici GP25 is an evolution of previous work. Gigi Dall’ Igna has stated that the bike features small steps forward rather than a revolution like the one between 2023 and 2024. What is clear is that the manufacturer, which celebrated its 100th premier-class win last year and boasts a 25 % win rate from all starts, will once again have a target on its back.
There is also a significant change for Marc Marquez, who will work with a third different crew chief in as many seasons. After his long partnership with Santi Hernandez at Honda, and a successful year with Frankie Carchedi in 2024, he now teams up with Marco Rigamonti in factory red. Rigamonti has been in MotoGP since 2017 and most recently worked with Enea Bastianini.
