On behalf of the Government of Indonesia , Indonesia Tourism Development Corporation ( ITDC ) as Circuit Owner and Mandalika Grand Prix Association ( MGPA ) as Event Promoter , I ’ d like to welcome everyone to Pertamina Mandalika Circuit , located at The Mandalika Special Economic Zone , for the first ever Pertamina Grand Prix of Indonesia 2022 .
We are delighted and honoured to host MotoGP™ at this brand-new circuit on the beautiful island of Lombok in West Nusa Tenggara , Indonesia . Surrounded by white sandy beaches and picturesque hills , it was recently declared “ firmly in the category of the most beautiful circuits in the world ” by the MotoGP™ official account .

The event will take place on the third weekend of March 2022 , from 18th March to 20th March . We are looking forward to welcoming our guests from the MotoGP™ community , including all riders , teams , manufacturers , media , sponsors , organizers , marshals , and of course , all the spectators .
Having the largest MotoGP™ fan base in the world in terms of viewership and online engagement is a testament to how popular MotoGP™ is in Indonesia .. Therefore , it gives us immense pride that local fans will be able to witness this thrilling sporting event on our own soil , at our beloved Circuit . It is 25 years since MotoGP™ was last held in Indonesia , its return is an exciting time for our country , boosting the economy , promoting tourism , and placing Indonesia firmly on the sporting map .
We would like to thank the Indonesian Government , the Coordinating Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Investment , Ministry of State Owned Enterprises , Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy , Ministry of Home Affairs , Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing , Ministry of Finance , Ministry of Communication and Information Technology , Ministry of Transportation , along with all other ministries and institutions , as well as the local Government in West Nusa Tenggara and Lombok Island , for their great assistance in making MotoGP™ happen .
