Class of the field in his Moto2 title winning year in 2017, Morbidelli has impressed in MotoGP too – but will want to rekindle some of his earlier form in the class. After coming second in the 2020 title fight with Yamaha, fortunes waned for both and he joined Pramac on a GP24 in 2024. But after a big crash in training before pre-season even began, he was sidelined from all of it and only back up to speed after a few race weekends. There were flashes of brilliance thereafter and a Sprint podium, but a new start at VR46 promises more. Back to full fitness and up to speed, he also stays on the GP24 – looking to leverage that experience as he joins the team fielded by the academy he’ s been part of since his early career.
Morbidelli 2017-ben Moto2-es világbajnoki címet szerzett és azóta is számos figyelemre méltó eredményt ért el a MotoGPben. Jelenleg szeretné újra megtalálni korábbi formáját a királykategóriában. A 2020-as szezonjában másodikként zárt a Yamahával, ezt követően viszont mind neki, mind a csapatnak visszaesett a teljesítménye. Ezután 2024-ben a Pramac színeiben, egy GP24-essel folytatta, ám egy szezon előtti edzésbaleset miatt hosszú időre kényszerpihenőre szorult és csak néhány versenyhétvége után lendült újra formába. Azóta láthattunk már tőle néhány villantást, többek közt egy sprintfutamos dobogót is, de az igazi újrakezdést most a VR46 csapat jelenti számára. Immáron egészségesen, a régi tempóját megtartva továbbra is egy GP24 nyergében áll rajthoz, tovább gyarapítva ezzel bámulatos tapasztalatát, amely karrierjének kezdete óta egyre csak bővül.
