Considering the struggles Crutchlow experienced in his debut MotoGP™ campaign, it’ s remarkable he went on to become Great Britain’ s most successful premier class exponent since Barry Sheene. The 2009 World Supersport Champion was 12th overall in 2011. But he arrived in the following two seasons, scoring six podiums for Tech 3 Yamaha, finishing a career best fifth overall in 2013. After a tricky year in Ducati’ s factory team in 2014, he went on two win three MotoGP™ races across a successful six-year spell at LCR Honda, in which he finished in the top nine of the MotoGP™ World Championship for five consecutive years. The Briton originally retired at the close of 2020 to take on a test role for Yamaha. After leaving the Iwata factory at the start of 2025, he’ s since made a sensational comeback as Johann Zarco’ s substitute in the familiar surroundings of Lucio Cecchinello’ s team in 2026.
