“ I CAME BACK BECAUSE IT’ S WHAT I KNOW. I OBVIOUSLY ENJOY IT. BUT I’ M GLAD I DID.”
What does the future hold for Britain’ s only MotoGP™ race winner in the past 45 years?“ I have so much respect from people in the paddock that love I’ m back,” he said.“ I speak to most in the paddock all year around anyway. It’ s not as though I was out of the loop. Maybe it’ ll lead to something; maybe it won’ t. I’ m not coming back racing, that’ s for sure.
“ Would I be interested in doing test riding? I suppose I would. It’ s no different to what I’ ve done my whole life. It’ s not as if I don’ t know what I’ m doing. I was test riding that Honda when I was racing. I was Yamaha’ s test rider for four years. I know how to be a test rider. Maybe in the future.”
Elsewhere, fans from the UK and Ireland have three stars to cheer on in Moto3. Eddie O’ Shea is fully revved up for a fine showing at home after scoring a string of top ten results in the first half of the season.
