Franco Morbidelli’ s rise gathered pace with the Superstock 600 title in 2013, alongside selected Moto2™ wildcard outings. A full Moto2™ campaign followed with Italtrans, where steady progress led to a first podium in 2015 before a broken leg disrupted his season. A switch to EG 0,0 Marc VDS in 2016 proved pivotal. Regular podium finishes laid the groundwork for a standout 2017 campaign, where Morbidelli won the opening three races and secured the Moto2™ World Championship at Sepang. Promotion to MotoGP™ followed in 2018, earning Rookie of the Year honours. A move to Petronas Yamaha SRT in 2019 set up a breakthrough 2020 season, with three race wins and second overall in the standings. Injury halted momentum in 2021 and later factory Yamaha seasons brought mixed results. A Ducati switch in 2024 restored confidence. Now with Pertamina Enduro VR46 Racing Team, Morbidelli enters 2026 focused on consistent podium contention.
