With Fermin Aldeguer and Ai Ogura, first and third in last year’ s German GP, now racing in MotoGP™, this weekend promises to be an open affair in the intermediate class.
Spanish challenger Manuel Gonzalez( Liqui Moly Dynavolt Intact GP) is currently the rider to beat, after he scored brilliant wins in Thailand, Jerez and Le Mans. Likewise, preseason favourite Aron Canet( Fantic Racing LINO SONEGO) has already shown a maturity this term, and won the Qatar race in epic fashion.
Jake Dixon( ELF Marc VDS Racing Team) took commanding wins in Argentina and Austin aboard his new Boscoscuro chassis, and was a strong second here last year.
Senna Agius( Liqui Moly Dynavolt Intact GP) and Brazilian Diogo Moreira( Italtrans Racing Team), two riders who fought for last year’ s Rookie of the Year prize, have also proved they can now be regular podium contenders in 2025. Agius’ first win in the UK was a season highlight.
If those at the front of last year’ s Moto2 race are present once again, expect to see Celestino Vietti( SpeedRS Team) and Sergio Garcia( QJMOTOR-FRINSA-MSI) up there, even if both have been far from the best this term.
Also watch out for the CFMoto Aspar Team’ s talented rookie duo of Dani Holgado and David Alonso. Holgado has been the revelation of the season so far, while Alonso’ s podium in the UK showed he’ s gradually getting up to speed.
