Lecuona arriva in Moto2™ nel 2016 con una limitata esperienza nelle competizioni su strada . Un infortunio rovina gran parte della sua stagione 2017 , quello che è il suo primo anno come pilota a tempo pieno nel Campionato del Mondo , ma presto diventa un frequentatore costante della top 10 a partire dall ' anno successivo e continua ad impressionare nel 2019 . Inizialmente confermato in Moto2™ col team di Aki Ajo per il 2020 , KTM sceglie di promuoverlo di categoria piazzandolo nel Red Bull KTM Tech 3 . Considerando la sua poca esperienza , il primo anno in MotoGP™ è stato comunque promettente visto che ha ottenuto due piazzamenti in top 10 nel doppio appuntamento austriaco e di nuovo nel GP di Teruel . In Francia è arrivato nono . L ’ anno prossimo lo vedremo impegnato nel WorldSBK .
Lecuona stepped into the highly competitive Moto2™ class in 2016 with limited road racing experience . Injury ruined much of 2017 – his first year as a full-time World Championship rider – but he was soon finishing regularly inside the top ten the following year . He continued to impress in 2019 . Originally signed to Aki Ajo ’ s renowned Moto2™ team for 2020 , KTM saw it fit to promote the Spaniard to Red Bull KTM Tech 3 . Considering his lack of experience , a first year in MotoGP™ was promising as he scored top ten finishes in the Austrian double header and the Teruel GP . He is poised to leave MotoGP™ at the end of this year with a move to WorldSBK™ slated .
