QUARTARARO ON A ROLL
The big question coming into the seventh round of 2021 is whether anyone has an answer for MotoGP™ championship leader Fabio Quartararo ’ s speed . The Frenchman has been in sensational form this season , picking up three wins , the latest of which at Mugello saw him extend his championship lead to 24 points . The 22-year old really has the chance to go on a roll now : Barcelona was the scene of his debut Grand Prix triumph in 2018 and he won the MotoGP™ race there last year , too .
It ’ s been a sensational year for France in the premier class . Johann Zarco sits second overall thanks to a cool , well managed fourth place at Mugello . Aside from a costly crash in Portugal , the two-time Moto2™ World Champion has been a model of consistency this year and heads to a track where he notched up two wins in the intermediate class during his title-winning years ( 2015 and 2016 ).
