Despite reigning champion Diogo Moreira stepping up to MotoGP™, the other Moto2™ contenders in 2025 have stayed behind to contest another highly competitive season.
Last year saw all kinds of records broken. 18 different riders climbed the podium in the intermediate class and eleven won a race – never has a category seen such variety before.
Of those likely to fight at the front this year, Thai GP winner Manuel Gonzalez( Liqui Moly Dynavolt Intact GP) is likely to be back in contention after winning the first race of the year.
CFMoto Aspar Team’ s talented duo of Dani Holgado and David Alonso were the outstanding rookies last term – and both Moto2™ race winners. Now in their second season in the class, both will be keen to mount a serious title challenge. Holgado, in particular, won here majestically last year.
Having backed up his Austin victory with a triumph at Jerez, Senna Agius( Liqui Moly Dynavolt Intact GP) has proved he is capable of fighting for the championship this term.
Also keep an eye on BLU CRU Pramac Yamaha Moto2 runner Izan Guevara, who scored two podiums from the first two races, as well as Celestino Vietti( SpeedRS Team), who rode to a fine second place in Austin.
And Dani Muñoz( Italtrans Racing Team) is another to keep an eye on this weekend. The Spaniard scored a maiden Moto2™ podium at this race a year ago. His second place in Brazil showed he is only getting faster in his first full season in the class.
A pesar de que el vigente Campeón, Diogo Moreira, ha dado el salto a MotoGP™, el resto de contendientes de Moto2™ en 2025 se han mantenido para disputar otra temporada altamente competitiva.
El año pasado se rompieron todo tipo de récords: 18 pilotos distintos subieron al podio en la categoría intermedia y once ganaron una carrera; nunca antes una categoría había mostrado tanta variedad.
Entre los que probablemente lucharán en cabeza este año, el ganador del GP de Tailandia, Manuel González( Liqui Moly Dynavolt Intact GP), volverá a estar en la pelea tras ganar la primera carrera del año.
La talentosa dupla del CFMoto Aspar Team, Dani Holgado y David Alonso, fue el gran referente entre los rookies el año pasado, y ambos lograron victorias en Moto2™. Ahora, en su segunda temporada, buscarán luchar seriamente por el título. Holgado, en particular, ganó aquí de forma magistral el año pasado.
Tras respaldar su victoria en Austin con otro triunfo en Jerez, Senna Agius( Liqui Moly Dynavolt Intact GP) ha demostrado que puede pelear por el campeonato esta temporada.
También hay que seguir de cerca a Izan Guevara( BLU CRU Pramac Yamaha Moto2), que sumó dos podios en las dos primeras carreras, así como a Celestino Vietti( SpeedRS Team), que fue segundo en Austin.
Y Dani Muñoz( Italtrans Racing Team) es otro a tener en cuenta este fin de semana. El español logró su primer podio en Moto2™ en esta misma carrera hace un año, y su segundo puesto en Brasil demuestra que está progresando en su primera temporada completa en la categoría.
