There can be no doubting 2026 has been a tough year for Yamaha’ s four MotoGP™ riders. Alex Rins is no different as the Spaniard attempts to bring the new V4 YZR M1 up to speed.
No cabe duda de que 2026 está siendo un año difícil para los cuatro pilotos de Yamaha en MotoGP™. Alex Rins no es una excepción, mientras intenta poner a punto la nueva YZR-M1 V4.
The six-time MotoGP™ race winner had a best finish of 14th in the opening four rounds of the year with a fairly new bike. But he has no regrets over signing with the Iwata factory even if he’ s finished 18th and 19th in each of the past two championships.
El ganador de seis carreras en MotoGP™ ha logrado un 14 º puesto como mejor resultado en las cuatro primeras rondas del año a lomos de una moto ' nueva '. Pero no se arrepiente de haber fichado por la fábrica de Iwata, pese a acabar 18 º y 19 º en cada uno de los dos últimos campeonatos.
“ I ' m not in a really good moment,” conceded Rins.“ But when I was in LCR Honda, I was feeling so good, and Yamaha came and made me an offer. I went for it because I felt we can do great things together. Since I jumped on the bike with the inline four I was struggling a little bit. It was a reality.
" No estoy pasando por un buen momento ", admitió Rins. " Pero cuando estaba en LCR Honda, me sentía muy bien, y Yamaha vino y me hizo una oferta. Acepté porque sentí que juntos podíamos hacer grandes cosas. Desde que me subí a la moto con el( motor) cuatro en línea, me costó un poco. Es la realidad ".
“ But then when they started to explain the new project of the V4, I was feeling quite good, because I had like new opportunities. It was like this, as soon as I tried the bike, it has some limitations as everybody can see, but I felt a little bit better than with the inline four.”
Rins is pushing to convince a MotoGP factory to give him an opportunity for 2027, and is adamant he will continue knuckling down, even if results have been tough.
" Pero luego, cuando empezaron a explicarme el nuevo proyecto del( motor) V4, me sentí bastante bien, porque tenía nuevas oportunidades. Fue así: en cuanto probé la moto, tiene algunas limitaciones, como todo el mundo puede ver, pero me sentí un poco mejor que con el cuatro en línea ".
Rins está apretando para convencer a un fabricante de MotoGP de que le dé una oportunidad para 2027, y se muestra firme en que seguirá esforzándose al máximo, aunque los resultados hayan sido duros.
