The home fans got what they wanted at Silverstone in 2024, as Jake Dixon( ELF Marc VDS Racing Team) scored a memorable home triumph on British soil. All eyes will be on the 29-year-old as he aims to repeat the feat and give his Moto2™ title bid a boost.
The Englishman has been one of the stars of the intermediate class this term, winning races in Argentina and Austin in dominant fashion aboard his new Boscoscuro chassis.
Yet Dixon knows he must be at his best to beat Spanish challengers, including Manuel Gonzalez( Liqui Moly Dynavolt Intact GP), who scored brilliant wins in Thailand and Jerez. Likewise, pre-season favourite Aron Canet( Fantic Racing LINO SONEGO) has already shown maturity this term, and won the Qatar race in epic fashion, recovering from 14th on lap one.
If those at the front of last year’ s Moto2 race are present once again, expect to see Joe Roberts( OnlyFans American Racing Team) and Sergio Garcia( QJMOTOR – FRINSA – MSI) up there, even if both have been far from full fitness so far this term.
Senna Agius( Liqui Moly Dynavolt Intact GP) and Brazilian Diogo Moreira( Italtrans Racing Team), two riders who fought for last year’ s Rookie of the Year prize, have also proved they can now be regular podium contenders in 2025.
Also watch out for the CFMoto Aspar Team’ s talented rookie duo of Dani Holgado and David Alonso. Holgado has been the revelation of the season so far, while Alonso is gradually getting up to speed.
