Jack Miller , who scored his memorable first victories for the factory at Jerez and Le Mans , Ducati is well poised for an all-out attack on the championship with it much improved GP21 . The Australian has been banging on the door of the parc fermé for the past few weeks and has showed well in his last visits to the Circuit of the Americas .
That ’ s not forgetting reigning World Champion Joan Mir . We have only seen the best of the Ecstar Suzuki rider in flashes , with a wonderful display at the season opener in Qatar now a distant memory . His performances are regularly undone by poor qualifying showings . But he has still be consistent , racking up top tens in each race apart from a crash at the French Grand Prix . His fifth podium of the season at Aragon showed his battling instincts remain very much intact , and he won ’ t relinquish his crown until his chances are mathematically gone .
That ’ s not forgetting Marc Marquez , the winner of six of the last seven MotoGP™ races at Austin . Physically , he is still some way from his best . But performances at previous anti-clockwise tracks – the Sachsenring and Aragon – resulted in first and second places . No doubt , the Catalan will be in the running for victory again this weekend .
