FIM Enel MotoE™ WORLD CUP

The MotoE™ World Cup returned for its fourth installment in 2022 , when the series was bigger and better than ever . The one-make class of electric bikes expanded to a 14-race championship and boasted a top-class entry list , as strong as it has ever been . With 18 entrants competing aboard identical Energica Corse machines capable of 165mph and super sticky Michelin MotoGP™-spec tyres , the formula for close racing was complete . There was variety to boot , with four different race winners and seven podium finishers in the series ’ twelve races . Just as we saw in 2021 , Misano was the scene of a dramatic conclusion to the series , as Dominique Aegerter prevailed in a tight fight against Brazilian Eric Granado . In an expanded series , races spanned from May to September . Two-time MotoE™ World Cup winner Jordi Torres heads the entry list but his challenge came undone at Le Mans where he suffered a broken leg . Bradley Smith and Hector Garzo , returnees to the class after an absence of two years , beefed up the entry list . As was the case in the past three years , each of the MotoGP satellite teams ran two entries for this year ’ s MotoE World Cup , with LCR , Octo Pramac , Tech 3 , WithU GRT
RNF ( and Gresini all represented . Some of Moto2 and Moto3 ’ s most respected teams , including Ajo Racing , Intact GP , Join Contract Pons 40 , Ongetta SIC58 Squadracorse and the OpenBank Aspar Team also fielded competitive entries . New for 2022 , each of the six rounds of the series hosted two races . It all kicked off at the Spanish Grand Prix at Jerez on 30th April and 1st May before travelling to
France , where the famous Le Mans circuit hosted round two on 14th and 15th May . Next up came a new addition to the MotoE™ World Cup calendar : Mugello , Italy on 28th and 29th May before a return to the Netherlands on 25th and 26th June . The Red Bull Ring ( 20-21 August ) hosted the next outing before the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli ( 3-4 September ) brought the season to a close .
