Aleix Espargaró saltó rápidamente de 125cc en 2005 a la categoría de 250cc a mediados de 2006 hasta que se encontró sin moto tres años después . Sin embargo , una carrera como sustituto en 2009 para Pramac Ducati en la categoría de MotoGP™ puso al ‘ 41 ’ en el mapa . Sus cuatro actuaciones le valieron una llamada para una campaña completa de MotoGP™ al año siguiente . A partir de ahí , Espargaró ganó dos títulos de la categoría CRT en 2012 y 2013 . Llevó a Suzuki -que volvía a la categoría después de tres años de ausencia- a recuperar la velocidad en 2015 e hizo lo mismo con Aprilia en 2017 , cuando consiguió dos brillantes resultados en el Top 6 . Lideró el resurgimiento de Aprilia en la categoría en 2021 , consiguiendo el primer podio de la fábrica en la clase reina desde el año 2000 y el primero en la era MotoGP™ . Tras nuevas mejoras en la RS-GP de Aprilia , ¿ podrá seguir luchando por podios y victorias en 2022 ?

Espargaro skipped quickly from 125cc in 2005 to the 250cc class midway through 2006 until he found himself without a ride three years later . But a substitute ride in 2009 for Pramac Ducati in the MotoGP™ class put this Catalan on the map . His four showings earned him a full-time call up for a full MotoGP™ campaign the following year . From there Espargaro won two CRT class titles in 2012 and 2013 . He brought Suzuki – returning to the class after a three-year absence – up to speed in 2015 and did the same for Aprilia in 2017 , when he scored two brilliant top six finishes . He led Aprilia ’ s resurgence in the class in 2021 , scoring the factory ’ s first MotoGP™ podium since 2000 . Furthermore , he finished less than 10s off the race winner in 8 of 18 contests . After further bike improvements , he has kicked on in 2022 , taking a debut race win and being a surprise leading player in the title fight .
