Después de tres años en el programa de la Red Bull Rookies Cup , Binder pasó varias temporadas con maquinaria Mahindra , de 2012 a 2014 , en la categoría de Moto3™ , antes de fichar por el equipo KTM de Aki Ajo en 2015 . Tras un año de aprendizaje con Aki , Binder se alzó con el título en 2016 . Una fractura en el brazo izquierdo en los test de pretemporada complicó su debut en Moto2™ en 2017 , pero al año siguiente aceleró hasta conseguir tres victorias y mostró una determinación asombrosa para ganar cinco carreras y terminar subcampeón en 2019 a pesar de un paquete inferior . Binder copó diversos titulares en MotoGP™ en 2020 , al conseguir el título de Rookie del Año y ganar en la que era su tercera carrera en la categoría reina . Firmó otro triunfo en 2021 y terminó sexto en la general . Sin duda , se esperan más victorias del sudafricano este año .

After three years in the Red Bull Rookies programme , Binder spent several seasons on Mahindra machinery from 2012 to 2014 in the Moto3™ class before a move to Aki Ajo ’ s KTM team in 2015 . After a year of learning the ropes with Aki , Binder romped to the title in 2016 . A left arm fracture in preseason testing complicated his Moto2™ debut in 2017 but he sped to three Moto2™ victories the following year , and showed amazing determination to win five races and finish second overall in 2019 despite subpar equipment . Binder was an assured MotoGP™ presence in 2020 , earning the Rookie of the Year title and winning his third ever premier class race . He earned another in 2021 and finished sixth overall . The South African was KTM ’ s leading light in the first half of 2022 .
