Dr. Philip Blosser, professor of philosophy, reviewed The Cambridge Companion to the Summa Theologiae, edited by Philip McCosker and Denys Turner( Cambridge University Press, 2016), in CHOICE Current Review for Academic Libraries( December 2016).

Dr. Robert Fastiggi, professor of systematic theology, attended and gave a presentation to the English speaking group at the 24th International Mariological Congress of the Pontifical Marian Academy International, Fatima, Portugal, September 6-11; gave a day-long workshop on Pope Francis’ s postsynodal exhortation, Amoris Laetitia, Clergy Conference of the Diocese of Superior, WI, October 17; and authored The Sacrament of Reconcilation: An Anthropological and Scriptural Understanding, Hillenbrand Books of the Liturgical Institute of the University of St. Mary of the Lake, Mundelein, IL.
Dr. Mary Healy, professor of Sacred Scripture, presented: a plenary session talk,“‘ O Woman, Great Is Your Faith!’: Women As Protagonists of Faith in the Synoptic Gospels,” annual meeting of the Catholic Biblical Association, Santa Clara, CA, August 8;“ Women in Sacred Scripture: New Insights From Exegesis,” Symposium on the Role of Women in the Church, Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith, Rome, September 26; and two days of talks on Scripture and evangelization, Diocese of Venice
Priests’ Convocation, November 29-30. Her commentary on Hebrews was published in August 2016 by Baker Academic.

Dr. Edward Peters, Edmund Cardinal Szoka Chair, presented“ Mercy and the Rule of Law,” Canon Law Society of Nigeria, Warre, Nigeria, November 21, while meeting with faculty, staff, and seminarians at
Nigerian seminaries and Catholic institutes of higher education during his ten-day tour of the country. He published current events commentaries and scholarly book reviews with Homiletic & Pastoral Review and Catholic World Report.
Msgr. Daniel Trapp, associate professor of systematic theology, liturgy, and sacraments, was on sabbatical during the fall semester. He devoted the time to writing a book on the history of African Americans in Detroit, The Detroit Black Directory: 1736-1836.
