Personal and professional growth
The education , experiences , and relationships that Allison gained while pursuing her degree have had a lasting impact on her life — personally and professionally . She shared , “ As a scholar and theologian , I learned how to explain and defend the Catholic faith according to the audience and situation in a way that demonstrates a thorough familiarity with and love for the content and foundation of the faith . As a Catholic disciple of Jesus Christ , it helped me to fall more and more in love with the Lord who set the perfect example of holiness , love , and fidelity . As a person , my time at the seminary helped me grow in confidence and poise needed in my future work and ministry .”
Although it ’ s been five years since she graduated , Allison continues to feel connected to the seminary community . “ I am just so grateful for the time I spent as a student at SHMS and I love the fact that no matter how long it has been since I graduated , I feel so at home and welcome whenever I come to visit , either for an event or to catch up with friends . I really cannot even begin to quantify how very much I value and am grateful for my time at SHMS and the integral role it has played in my formation and my ability to follow my vocation not just as a theology teacher but also and especially as a disciple of Jesus Christ and a daughter of the Church .”
