Dr . Robert Fastiggi , professor of systematic theology , spoke at a Marian Day , Amsterdam , Netherlands , in honor of Our Lady of All Nations , May 27 , and attended a meeting of a research group on the thought of Francisco Suárez , SJ , Loyola University of Andalusia , Seville , Spain , June 29 – 30 . He published “ The Mass as Sacrifice and Liturgical Asceticism ,” Liturgy and Priestly Formation : Sharing the Life of Christ , ( Omaha , NE : IPF Publications , 2017 ).
Fr . Charles Fox , director of graduate seminarians , published “ Repent and Believe : Moral Preaching in the New Evangelization ,” Church Life ( University of Notre Dame , May 2017 ).
Dr . Matthew T . Gerlach , dean of the Institute for Lay Ministry , edited and coauthored the introduction to Renewal of Catholic Higher Education : Essays on Catholic Studies in Honor of Don J . Briel ( University of Mary Press , 2017 ), which was published in September . The book explores the promise that the “ Catholic Studies movement ” holds for transformation and renewal .
Dr . Mary Healy , professor of Sacred Scripture , presented “ How to Interpret the Bible ,” Iowa State University , Ames , IA , March 30 ; led a symposium on “ The Charismatic Renewal as a Current of Grace for the Church ,” Catholic Charismatic Renewal Jubilee celebrations in Rome , June 1 ; and presented a four-day seminar on charisms at a national conference for priests in Lomé , Togo , June 13-16 .
Fr . Daniel Jones , associate professor of theology , attended the meeting of the Academy of Catholic Theology in Washington , D . C . July 2-7 ; presented “ Christology and Christian Identity in St . Augustine ,” St . John Fisher Society , Mundelein , IL , May 23-25 ; and taught compressed courses , “ The Paschal Mystery ” and “ The Mystery of the Church ,” Missionaries of Charity , Kolkata , India , August 26 – September 03 .
Dr . Daniel Keating , professor of theology , co-authored a volume of the Catholic Commentary on Sacred Scripture , James , entitled First , Second and Third John ( Grand Rapids : Baker , April 2017 ). He presented “ Prayer and Contemplation Arising from Lectio Divina ,” Quinn Biblical Conference St .
